We are beyond excited to share some big news from our Trail Mommas community—Bear and Wesson have been selected as July’s Trail TRACKers of the Month by the incredible national Kids in Parks program! 🎉🌿

If you’ve hiked with us, you’ve likely met these two adventurous brothers who are always ready to explore, flip over logs, spot frogs, and dive into every nature activity thrown their way. From pine cone soccer on sandy trails to racing through pollinator gardens, Bear and Wesson bring curiosity, energy, and joy to every outdoor outing—and now they’re being recognized for it!

What is the Kids in Parks Program?

If you’re new to it, Kids in Parks is a nationwide initiative designed to get families outdoors and engaged with nature through their TRACK Trails—kid-friendly paths with self-guided activities that make hiking even more fun. Each TRACK Trail has interactive brochures or signs with themes like Animal Athletes, Bug Out, Nature’s Hide & Seek, and more.

The best part? When your child completes an activity and logs it online, they earn real prizes—from trail stickers to nature gear. It’s a fantastic way to motivate little hikers, spark their imagination, and build lifelong outdoor habits. 🌱

Bear and Wesson’s Adventure

Bear and Wesson have been actively participating in the program this year, exploring TRACK Trails across North Carolina and checking off activity after activity. They especially loved doing the Animal Athletes trail, where they learned how animals move and then tried to mimic them—jumping like frogs, crawling like bears, and running like deer. 🐸🐻🦌

Their consistent enthusiasm, commitment to the program, and love of nature caught the attention of the Kids in Parks team, who selected them for the July Trail TRACKer spotlight. This recognition not only celebrates their adventures, but also highlights what Trail Mommas is all about—getting kids outside, connecting with nature, and making lifelong memories together.
