Finding My Trail: How Volunteering with Triangle Land Conservancy Is Lighting My Path

Since moving to North Carolina, I’ve been searching for ways to leave my mark, impact my community, and feel a genuine sense of excitement about the volunteer work I invest in. I’ve tried different opportunities, each meaningful in its own way, but many left me still searching for something deeper—something that truly captured the essence of what I’ve been looking for.

For me, volunteering isn’t just about giving my time; it’s about aligning with a purpose that sparks joy, connection, and growth. I’ve long felt called to give back through environmentalism and education, but I needed to find the right avenue to make it come alive.

That’s why I am so thrilled to share that I’ve signed up for the Triangle Land Conservancy’s Trail Guide program. 🌿

This program will train me to lead official TLC hikes and programs, blending two passions of mine: connecting people with nature and creating opportunities for discovery. Even more exciting, it also fulfills part of my Environmental Education Criteria II certification, allowing me to grow as both a guide and an educator.

What sets this opportunity apart is how much it resonates with me on every level. It’s not just about walking the trails; it’s about helping others see the magic in them. It’s about inviting people to slow down, look closer, and build connections—with the land, with each other, and with themselves.

For the first time since my move, I feel like I’ve found something that embodies both my love for the outdoors and my desire to make a meaningful impact. My heart is truly on fire with excitement for this new journey.

Here’s to new trails, new growth, and finding the spaces where we’re able to give back in ways that matter most. 🌎💚
